About This Tour
This is the tour every visitor to Kampong Thom should take at least once. You'll explore the full Sambor Prei Kuk UNESCO complex with an expert local guide, then push deeper off the tourist trail to the rarely-visited Prasat Andet — a 7th-century ruin surrounded by rice fields that most travellers never find. The afternoon takes you to Phnom Santuk sacred mountain for a climb through shrines, rock carvings, and reclining Buddhas before a sunset panorama over the Cambodian plains.

Sambor Prei Kuk — UNESCO Temples
Two hours exploring all three temple groups with your guide. Morning mist, ancient brick textures, flying palace reliefs, and octagonal towers. Your guide will bring the Chenla Empire to life.
Prasat Andet — Hidden Ruins
Drive 20 minutes to the hidden Prasat Andet ruins — a 7th–8th century temple complex rarely visited by tourists. Walk through rice paddies to reach the site. Likely entirely to yourself.
Village Lunch
Lunch at a local family home near the temples — fresh fish amok, rice, soup, and seasonal vegetables. Simple and delicious.

45-minute drive south to Phnom Santuk. Rest, enjoy the countryside, and prepare for the afternoon climb.
Phnom Santuk — Sacred Mountain Climb
Climb the 809 steps at a relaxed pace. Explore the summit pagoda, rock-carved Buddhas, reclining statue, and panoramic views stretching across the Cambodian plains.
Return to Town & Drop-off
Drive back to Kampong Thom town. Drop-off at your guesthouse or the riverside. Free evening to explore the night market.
